Abstract

The study presented here aims to model the relationship between civic identity and psychological well-being in students. By analyzing theoretical frameworks and presenting a conceptual model, this research explores how civic experiences and the interpretation of civic meanings shape the development of civic identity. It further examines how these elements influence key psychological factors such as emotional and social intelligence, which are integral to students’ adaptation to societal roles and their overall well-being. This model serves as a step toward understanding how civic identity functions as a critical factor in fostering psychological stability and resilience among student populations. Research Context The study is grounded in the theoretical analysis of the concept of civic identity and its influence on the psychological well-being of students. Drawing from a wide array of psychological and pedagogical literature, this research presents a model of how civic experiences and the interpretation of civic meanings contribute to forming a robust civic identity. Central to this process are the emotional and social intelligences of students, which facilitate their engagement with civil society and enhance their ability to adapt to evolving social conditions. By examining both theoretical perspectives and empirical data, this research highlights the role of civic identity in promoting psychological well-being through enhanced emotional regulation and social participation. It emphasizes the importance of integrating personal experiences with societal expectations to foster a sense of belonging and responsibility, which in turn supports emotional and psychological stability. This introduction establishes the foundation for further exploration of how civic identity influences students’ psychological well-being, setting the stage for the subsequent analysis and discussion of the proposed model.
